It's been a while since I've uploaded something. Well the first pic for the new year. This is my character for a role play I'm in called World of Darkness. World of Darkness is basically our world just a little darker, a little less friendly, and filled with the paranormal and supernatural. It's loads of fun. I've been dieing to draw my character ever since our first role play. While I came up with the original concept for her, I really have to thank our game master for really making her come to life. He gave all of us a back story he came up with, which made it interesting 'cause we came up with our character's concepts but our GM really fine tuned them. It was interesting. Okay, where to begin about Raven. First off, a lot about Raven was created by our GM and I just filled in some of the other parts. Anyways, our role play starts just a few weeks after Raven goes back to school after being in the insane asylum for 6 months (I laughed when our GM told me this. I couldn't help but think "Go figure." ). She returns to being a senior at El Camino High School in San Francisco. Her trip to the asylum, though unpleasant, wasn't unwilling. While she wasn't always the most cooperative of patients, she did come of her own free will. Ever since Raven was young, she has had visions of the future. She went to the asylum hoping to learn a way to stop the visions or at least make them more controllable. After she leaves, she later discovers that she has more control over when and where she has her visions and when and where in the future she sees.

Now a little bit about her history. Her father, who Raven was rather close with, committed a rather traumatic suicide when Raven was 10. He also happened to do it right in front of her younger brother, Alex, who understandably as never been quite the same since. Three years after the incident, Raven's mother remarried to a man named Carl. Raven has never liked Carl. Carl is a very old fashioned religious man and Raven is quite the opposite. He's constantly trying to reform Raven's "demonic" ways. It's because of Carl that Raven doesn't spend much time at home and when she does, she stays shut up in her room.

Raven hasn't had any friends since she was very young. She keeps to herself and the only person she cares for is her younger brother. She's very social awkward. She avoids interacting with people at all costs and will usually use harsh words to keep others away.

Raven is intelligent, spending most of her time looking up things on the occult (the supernatural and paranormal). She's rather good with a computer and is good at finding the information she's looking for. It's not much of a shock to see her with her nose in a book reading about the occult. Raven is very interested in the occult not only because of her visions but also because she has a sort of unseen sense. She can usually sense when there is something paranormal or supernatural about. It isn't really precise. It's usually just a prickling on the back of her neck or just a gut feeling that something isn't quite what it seems.

Raven also has had her fair share of brawls. She's a very prideful person that often responds to harsh words with her fists. She even carries around a pair of brass knuckles that she he swiped from her step father. Raven has a bit of knack for ending up with things that don't belong to her or she never purchased.

Raven's appearance is that of a hardcore goth. Usually dressed in black, the only other colors she wears are dark colors. Raven is rarely seen without her trench coat and black lipstick (the funny thing is that's pretty much how our GM described her haha!).

I actually kinda want to draw a comic of our role plays. I don't know if I'll actually do it but it would be interesting.
